Attractiepark Slagharen is a well oiled collection of retro flat rides lovingly presented adjoined to a holiday park, small ice cave water park and two coasters the solid looping star and mine train dressed roller skater
Have no shame for committing the latter as onsite is a church where the coaster geek can repent their credit whoring sins. Yes clearly catering for the holiday chalets Attractiepark Slagharen does have everything including a large collection of catering and retail outlets
The layout of the park is a large rectangle with a dinky tin can monorail to transport guests around. The centre of the rectangle is the main street with beautiful western themed facades whizzing overhead are some primitive cable cars, held in by a coat hanger with the whole gondola, well very open bench, attached to the string (not cable) by a paperclip . . it's terrifying stuff
High in the sky are the giant ferris wheel and observation tower both offering wonderful aerial views of the park, splashing down to earth are Hara Kiri water glide and Ripsaw Falls log flume
The western themeing is very well done, indoors are a 4D cinema with very impressive themed interior and preshow, a huge barn containing a western street scene that serves no purpose other than to boarder a rocking pony track ride, a kind of but not quite rapids boat ride plus there are a few shows including a dancing water fountain spectacle
Attractiepark Slagharen is well padded with flat rides alongside the modern drop tower are some real blasts from them past, the slow steady trauma of the over the top looping Droomboot, the swishing 1001 nights adventure of Zwunka, the bouncing airtime pops of the polyp Octopus, the convertible roof Schwarzkopf Enterprise and the fast space orbital swings of Zweefapollo
Ocean of Darkness invites deep sea diver cadets to board the sphere of enchantment before descending through the crash door portal of time into the UV underseaworld of unfathomable amazement, a rather modest dark ride made extraordinary by the simply peculiar ride vehicles
There are some real gems in the well looked after treasure chest of classic rides at Attractiepark Slagharen that make for a very special experience
