Driving through the lovely German countryside towards Holiday Park, there's the slight of an ominous orange squiggle which breaks up the green treelined landscape

The very orange squiggle in question is of course Expedition Ge Force, the park's signature attraction, it's a wonderful coaster, the crazy twisted first drop plunges into some pretty strong forces pushing down into your seat, you then go completely the opposite way as you float out of your seat with the airtime over the first camelback

The following swoops and twists through the trees make for a crazy ride, with a few guest airtime moments overall I'd sum the ride up in three words smooth, airtime, fun

Airtime aplenty can also be found on Free Fall, the intamin drop tower, no standy-up, floorless, tilty, shenanigans here, just simple up above the tress then back down again with a seemingly bigger airtime dosage than the usual intamin prescription tower ride

Donnerfluss or Thunder River was the first in Germany, the lengthy stream makes for quite an adventure, Teufelsfasser, the park's log flume is equally of exceptional length with an interesting reverse section and a touch of bizarre themeing, speaking of which the castle themed dark ride came complete with some animatronic boob action

The Lighthouse Tower is the newest flat ride, a star flyer with wonderful aerial views elsewhere there's a covered break dance with some plush carpeting on the floor, pirate ship, condor and slightly rare dancing pavilion

Superwirbel delivered the customary Corkscrew punch but it had a lot of trees grown in the middle of it, like a lot of rides in the park

Two of the stand-out experiences of the day include an impressive laser and fountain show and Tour des Fleurs a wandering monorail ride which travelled over some elaborate flower beds and through some random igloos with even more random aged animatronics inside

I didn't realise that Holiday Park only has a relatively modest collection of rides, not that this is a bad thing, what they do have are very smartly presented and well chosen
