Hollywood has truly come to Spain in the form of Parque Warner Madrid which is one of only a handful of major European theme parks to be built entirely from scratch in this new millennium

The wonderfully large-scale sprawling park includes five absorbing themed sections containing a nice mixture of the usual movie studios park attractions such as sets, stunt shows and special effects insights, along with more traditional amusement park rides that you perhaps wouldn't usually find at a movie park

This fusion of park styles creates an overall impressive experience, however admittedly the balance is tipped in favour of the rides aspect, nevertheless each ride is homed in a tremendous themed environment, more themed than the standard so-called "theme parks" making Parque Warner Madrid a very special place indeed

Entering through the infamous Warner Bros. Studios archway, the Hollywood Boulevard main street section sets the scene immediately for the high action thriller that's about to unfold

From the end of Hollywood Boulevard the park forms a circular layout which has been thoughtfully designed to effectively handle large crowds

Warner Bros. Studios is the American themed section with a city street set and the elaborate industrial harbour. Indiscreetly tucked behind one of the sets is the looming orange and blue vekoma cleavage of Stunt Fall an exceptional ride with manic pacing, wonderful large inversions and the intimidating vertical towers

DC Superheroes World is home to two B&M beauties, the floorless Superman offers something for everyone with a mix of airtime, speed and intensity, the inverted Batman is a little softer around the edges than its fellow American cousins but a much better themed queue line

Old West Territory has not one but two water rides, Cataratas Salvajes a generic chutes ride and Río Bravo an elaborate reversing flume, Coaster-Express a surprisingly fun giant woodie coaster, really brings out the spirit of the wild west theme fitting perfectly into this section of the park

Cartoon Village is the children's section of the park with cartoon character themed junior rides, including the Scooby Doo themed interactive dark ride and the choppy waters of Rápidos ACME a fast rather violent rapids ride

Costumed characters were a big highlight of Parque Warner Madrid actually acting in character which added so much laughter and enjoyment to our time at the park

Parque Warner Madrid is an extreme park, so large, so many well selected rides, so much great themeing all fusing together to make a truly spectacular star
