Magic Mountain is a huge park and notoriously gets shot apart by critics, while I don't personally believe it fully deserves all of the flack it is a little rough around the edges, rides have been thrown in without any care to make them sit nicely in the landscape, the catering outlets are few and far between and whats on offer isn't always too appealing, the layout of the park is huge and confusing, there's a lack of transportation rides, on my visits the staff don't seem to care or have any pride in their park, it's the little niggles like this which let the place down, if these issues could be polished over potentially you'd have an awesome park

Right that's all of the negativity out of the way! While they may be resting on hasty footings you can't deny the coasters . . well most of the coasters are incredible

Lofty G-monster Goliath is ultra intense, Batman: The Ride stands out as one of the most intense of the series, the blue and green scream machine Deja vu was brutal but brilliant and Scream has the old school B&M intensity none of that softy cloud ride you get on Hydra, this one rips your face off like the Kahn/Kumba originals

The vibrant orange and yellow flying coaster commands the mountain top making excellent use of the terrain, Tatsu is sensational culminating in the exhilarating pretzel loop finale

It's against the law to show a coaster documentary on TV without mentioning Superman The Escape, a ride I was sick of the sight thanks the numerous showings on discovery channel but actually sat on the beast is something else! A fantastic adrenaline pumping woooosh

Viper and Revolution are a little rough and sorry for themselves while Colossos is actually ok but defeats the point of the ride by not racing the twin tracks. X was surprisingly in rehab on my visits

Padding out the park the suspended swinging Ninja, runaway mine train shenanigans of Gold Rusher and two flume rides one log and one hydro flume, are good rides however they seem a little faded and left behind almost, if the park could give them a little love they'd have a fuller palate of signature attractions

I actually enjoyed Magic Mountain I think it needs a good kick in the ass to sort out its issues but after all that's a huge challenge considering the sheer scale and magnitude of the park
