Six Flags over Georgia has a large and unusual layout, with an even stranger collection of rides, the furry float through Monster Plantation and the insane rooftop plunging Canyon Blaster junior coaster are not the usual suspects you'd find at a Six Flags park
The heart of the park is a hilltop classic carousel and scenic antique car ride which is outlined by tall trees. For further opportunities to take in the scenery of Six Flags over Georgia hop aboard the railway or insanely high up cable cars or "Sky Buckets" as the park calls them
Goliath is the star of the show, the B&M mega coaster climbs up 200ft before plunging out of the park boundary, where it zips over airtime hills along side the service road opposite the entrance gate, the orange and teal giant is glass smooth with wonderfully fun floats
Trembling underneath the lofty shadows of Goliath is Georgia Scorcher, a cute little B&M stand up, at just a few feet over a 100ft tall this yellow peril is dwarfed by its big new neighbour, nonetheless the Scorcher is a fantastic ride, lunging down the first drop into the vertical loop is a great feeling, the high banked twisted curves are taken with much grace and style
The typical intense inverted gauntlet of Batman: The Ride and Superman: Ultimate Flight brings the park's B&M collection to four, the latter been the first in the series of what has now become the standard model B&M flyer, the lovely big swooping first drop really makes the most of the lay-down flying sensation, the intense pretzel loop which follows is almost in complete contrast but the jaunt quickly returns to the joyous free-flight dives and rolls
The breathtaking Mind Bender is a true Schwarzkopf masterpiece, the slightly terrain in the trees setting hides much of the layout, until the actual moment you're whizzing around the banked coils, thundering drops and loops
Adding to the coaster count and chiropractor client lists are the multi inversion Ninja and the brutal Georgia Cyclone woodie, Great American Scream Machine the park's other woodie is a lot more pleasant with its simple up and down out and back route. Also noteworthy is Acrophobia, a stand-up floorless tilting gyro drop tower
Six Flags over Georgia is poles apart from your routine franchised offering the oversized infrastructure, shady tall tree setting and peculiar ride compliment make for an extraordinary park
